One person, start to finish

When you engage OBRA, you deal with me. Not a junior drafter, not a project coordinator who forwards your questions to someone else. The person who takes your brief is the person who draws it, lodges it and answers the builder's phone call six months later.

I have spent fifteen years around buildings. I trained and worked in design offices in Colombia, then ran my own design and construction company there for close to a decade, which meant I was responsible for the drawings and for what happened on site when they turned out to be wrong. That is a fast way to learn what a good set of documents looks like.

I also worked on rebuilding projects in Houston, Texas after Hurricane Harvey, and since arriving in Australia I have designed residential and commercial projects from scratch for private clients, and produced documentation and design support for local builders.

Here is the part most designers cannot claim: I have worked on Australian sites as a tradie, on the tools. I know how a wall actually gets built, what a carpenter does when a detail does not work, and which clever ideas quietly triple a quote. So the designs I hand over follow a logical construction sequence. Fewer surprises, fewer variations, and no design compromised to fix a problem that should never have reached site.
